Suspicious Package Cleared In Downtown Dallas: Reports

DALLAS, TX — A downtown Dallas building housing the Univision 23 station was briefly placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon after a suspicious package was found near the entrance.

Various news outlets report the package was found at at 2323 Bryan Street after 1 p.m. Thursday by a delivery truck driver near the DART Tracks at Plaza of The Americas.

Employees in the building received an email alerting them that the first and second level doors at Crocket Street and the Univision skybridge escalators had been turned off in response to police activity.

KDFW’s Lynnanne Nguyen reported on Twitter that a bomb squad was at the scene. Plano Fire Department was also reportedly on scene.

Nguyen later reported the package was cleared by Dallas Fire-Rescue, who determined the ticking sounds were coming from a computer motherboard within.

This is a breaking news story and could be updated.
