For more the 115 years it has been the goal of the Delaware County Historical Society to preserve and collect Delaware County history. Our 1907 bank building is now the permanent home of our societies collection and houses a museum which has about four exhibits per year. The research library which contains an extensive collection of birth, marriage, burial, census, church, court, genealogical, and land records. The library also contains maps, newspapers, telephone books, city directories, yearbooks and much more.  The Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Education Center is used for lectures, and an interactive program for children. Our facility is also part of Chester City Historic Tour.

We are located in the business district of Chester, directly across from City Hall.
